The Chakra development team is proud to announce our third alpha release of Chakra GNU/Linux 0.4, code-named ‘Cyrus’. Our biggest achievement was to get rid of HAL and use upower and udisks instead of it. Test this image especially for things that might require HAL. Also Cinstall got a big update to only ask for the root password once. Tribe got new translations and we hope we fixed all the known bugs in it. What changed: Linux kernel 2.6.37 series, X.Org 7.6 stack with Mesa 7.10 and X.Org Server 22.214.171.1241, updated X.Org Drivers, KDE 4.6 RC2….
