Jay Flood mengumumkan ketersediaan kandidat rilis kedua untuk Porteus 1.1, distribusi kecil live CD berbasis Slackware dengan pilihan desktop KDE 3 (Trinity), KDE 4 dan LXDE:

The Porteus community is pleased to announce a new development release, Porteus 1.1 RC2. This release candidate is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit editions and features several bug fixes and some new features. Changelog: upgrade to Linux kernel 3.1.1 with BFS scheduler and ASPM patch (for saving power); upgrade to KDE 4.7.3 (64-bit edition only); fixed ‘copy2ram + auto-mount of hard disk partitions’ bug; fixed ‘copy2ram + changes’ bug which was preventing CD ejection; new cheatcodes; enabled auto-mounting of devices by default in LXDE; PCManFM shows internal volumes by default; modified default mount options in linuxrc….
