We are at the first milestone on our way to Mageia 2 – the alpha 1 ISO images are ready for download. Now it’s time for everyone to test, test, test and report bugs, so that Mageia 2 will be in great shape for release in May. Major new features: installation – work is in progress to decrease size of minimal install; Linux kernel 3.1.2 with a backported ASPM patch to improve battery life and improved graphics for the Intel hardware; systemd integration is in progress and still not finalized; glibc 2.14.1; graphical environments – KDE 4.7.3 version, GNOME 3.3.2, LXDE….
